We are looking for new solutions and business ideas where the engine is AI - the University of Debrecen Innovation Ecosystem Centre, the Faculty of Informatics and DATA-EDIH will award the best ideas at the joint idea competition on 14 May!
Push the boundaries, create something new and impress the judges - this is the short summary of the HackAIthon idea competition for students of the University of Debrecen. A working demo built on a compelling idea may qualify for special prize of HUF 500,000, all demos in both category are competing for the special prize
The hackAIthon is organised in two categories:
I. Indie hacker - I have a good idea and I would like to develop it individually at home, present it in front of a jury on 14 May.
• Before the competition, pitch training will be held to prepare the applicants for the presentation to the jury at these times: 12 and 13 May 2025 at 10.00 and 14.00
• You can work at home until the day of the competition, you have to present in front of the jury on 14 May at 14.00.
• Remember: the aim is to come up with ideas that focus on the use of artificial intelligence!

• The category will be launched if there are at least 9 applicants.
• Prize: 100 000 HUF to the first prize winner Application deadline 5 May 16.00
II. Team competition - the hackathon, open to teams of 2-5 people
• Work on your ideas on the spot from 9.00 on 14 May
• You can register as a team or individually. For individual applicants we will help you find team members, as you can only enter as a team. All team members must register.
• Mentors will be on hand to help you work on your ideas.
• Topics to be addressed:
1. Individuals / End users: AI solutions to improve the quality of everyday life
2. Education & Learning (students, teachers, educational institutions): AI for deeper understanding and personalisation of learning processes
3. Enterprise / Business to Business (B2B): AI-enabled business decision making, process optimisation
4. Public sector / Civil society: AI solutions to achieve social or community goals
5. Technology developers / AI communities: application, development, reimagination of advanced AI technologies
